Summer Cross Country Meeting Recap

Hello Everyone,

I wanted to follow up with some notes from our team meeting on Monday. Please read through this carefully and keep in touch with how your training is going over the next few weeks.

Important Dates:
June 22nd - 7:30 AM Summer Practice begins @ mouth of Provo Canyon
Aug 3rd - Aug 7th Cross Country Camp
Aug 8th - Team Fundraiser (Provo River Half Marathon - water stops)
Aug 18th - 1st Day of School
Aug 22nd - Team Fundraiser (Hobble Creek Half marathon - Water Stops)
Aug 26th - Pre Region Hosted by Mt. View
Oct 10th - Region 7 Championships Hosted by Mt. View
Oct 21st - State Cross Country Championships @ Sugarhouse Park

The Complete Schedule will be completed soon! Once Completed the schedule will be posted to the team website.

Other important info:

  • Cross Country Class has been moved from A4 to B4. Please try and get into the class if possible. Please let me know if you will not be able to get into class.
  • Cross Country Camp will be Monday Aug 3rd - Friday Aug 7th. The Cost of the camp will be $205.00. This will include your transportation, lodging and food. (more info to come as we get closer)

Training:

Everyone on the team should be running at a minimum of 4 days per week this summer. Your weekly mileage goal should be 20 - 35 Miles per week. Your training does not need to be real intense, but fun quality miles. Seek out the trails and softer surfaces to train on.

I would like for each of you to track your mileage. If you send me an email I would be happy to send you my training log that I built and use for my own training.

Please do not hesitate to call me or email me and let me know how your doing, if you have any questions, or just simply want to chat. Please spend some time sharing the fun of Cross Country with your friends, and help to "grow" the team.
